I am a Translator. This means that I speak several languages but mainly that I am familiar with different cultures: jokes, habits, puns are not the same beyond our borders. This means I have an open mind because I have lived abroad and I have friends from different countries. It means I have a perfect knowledge of Spanish and Catalan, my mother tongues. It means I have specialized in some subjects to be able to understand what I translate, because if I do not understand the text, I cannot translate it properly.
Sometimes, words and sentences have hidden meanings the dictionary cannot explain. That is the work of the translator. It is certainly not easy. It is a daily challenge for me to make my translations sound like original documents written in my language. And that is what I love about translation.
